The Orthodox Church in America (OCA)’s Diaconal Liturgical Practicum returned to the campus of St Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary (SVOTS) this June.
Lilly Endowment Inc. has awarded a $1 million grant to help St. Vladimir's Seminary build healthy Orthodox parishes by providing training and resources to more ordained and lay leaders—particularly through online education.

The Very Rev. Paul Shafran (SVOTS' class of 1945), turned 100 years old this summer and celebrated the seventy-fifth anniversary of his ordination to the holy priesthood.
SVOTS was invited by the Endowment to apply, and is one of several dozen organizations chosen to take part in phase one of the Compelling Preaching Initiative.
