Fr Nicholas Fine is an Instructor of the Practice in Liturgical Music at St Vladimir’s Seminary. He also directs the seminary’s Byzantine Choir, which sings services once a week using Byzantine chant in both Western and Byzantine notation. Fr Nicholas was born and raised in southwest Washington State and studied New Testament Greek and Biblical Studies at Multnomah University, a small Christian college in Portland, OR. He moved to New York in 2020 to begin seminary at St Vladimir’s. He was ordained a priest in the Antiochian Archdiocese by His Grace Bishop John Abdalah in the fall of 2022. That following spring, he graduated with his Master’s of Divinity and was assigned to St Anthony’s Orthodox Church in Bergenfield, NJ, by His Eminence Metropolitan Saba. In addition to parish ministry, Fr Nicholas is an accomplished vocal musician and has performed and recorded with professional vocal ensembles, including Cappella Romana and Dynamis Byzantine Ensemble.
