Peter Kopcha joined the St Vladimir’s Seminary leadership team as CFO in January 2025. He is a highly analytical and incisive senior executive with 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and operations management within retail and technology companies. A resourceful problem solver, he thrives on getting into the weeds, identifying and developing solutions to turn around difficult situations, driving productivity and change management. He has a demonstrated ability to streamline business and financial operations, accelerating organizational growth, cash flow optimization, and clear C-level and Board communications.
Peter led a startup company into a thriving $50M digital commerce business, transitioning its business model from an internet retailer to a predictable fee-for-services and consignment inventory digital commerce model. He has championed significant changes in culture and operations spanning both independently owned companies and private equity portfolio companies, adapting to the changing demands of differing CEOs and Presidents appointed to leadership positions. He also led the turnaround of the accounting and finance functions of the U.S. divisions of the largest international metal revert company.
A lifelong Orthodox Christian, Peter grew up as a member of St Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church in Terryville, CT, where his father was the choir director. His mother, three sisters, and he all sang in the choir. When his father became a deacon, Peter took over directing the choir—a role he has continued for over 40 years. He later moved to Vermont, attended the St Jacob of Alaska parish in Montpelier, and helped direct the choir there. Since moving to Southbury, CT, in 2000, he has served as choir director in that parish as well. His father also helped raise money for the St Vladimir’s Foundation.
In addition to his professional and church commitments, he serves as Treasurer of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship (OCF), though the time commitment of his professional role at St Vladimir's has significantly reduced his availability for OCF work.
He is married to Pattie, whom he met in the Waterbury, CT, parish, and they have two children, William and Rachel. They are proud grandparents to three granddaughters: Thea, Natalie, and Samara.
